and not be met by Scoop”. Kevin Temple
Top Dog doesn’t even begin to express the honor that Scoop held at Ronnie’s
home and in his heart. Scoop won the National GSP Quail Championship an
impressive 4 times!!!
In 1995, at the early age of just one year, Scoop placed second at
the Big Country Bird Hunters Association Labor Day Extravaganza.
In November of
1997, she brought home a first place in Open Gun Dog (Ret) from the Gulf Coast
GSP Club Field Trial earning her the first of three, 4-point major wins.
Her next AKC win was in November of 1998 at the Lone Star GSP Club Field Trial.
This first place win in Open Gun Dog (Ret) earned Scoop her second
4-point major.
A return to Lone
Star GSP Club’s Field Trial in February of 1999, brought Scoop her next
3-point major win, also from the Open Gun Dog (Ret) class.
This win completed her AKC Field Championship.
At the Southern
Arizona GSP Club in January 2001, Scoop earned a second place in Open Limited
Gun Dog (Ret) for two points.
February 2001,
found Scoop again in the winners circle at the Lone Star GSP’s Spring Trial.
Once again taking yet another 4-point major from the Open Limited Gun Dog
(Ret) class.
Another start in
November 2002 at the Lone Star GSP Trial once again found Scoop in first place
in the Open Limited Gun Dog class.
Scoop received all
of her AKC Field Championship points by winning the Open Gun Dog Retrieving
Class. We all know what an
accomplishment that is! She also
brought home many placements throughout her trialing career.

1999 ~ Earned her AKC Field Championship
1999 ~ AKC National Gundog Championship 3rd place over 150 starters

1999 ~ Region 7 NGSPA Shooting Dog Runner Up
1999 ~ Region 10 Open Shooting Dog Runner Up
2000 ~ NGSPA Quail Championship Shooting Dog Runner Up
2000 ~ NGSPA Quail Championship Amateur Shooting Dog Runner Up
2001 ~ NSGPA Quail Championship Amateur Shooting Dog Champion
2001 ~ NGSPA Region 7 Open Shooting Dog Champion
2001 ~ NGSPA Region 7 Amateur Shooting Dog Runner Up
All this and a
great mother to boot!!!!!!!!!
I, personally, owe
Scoop my gratitude. Several
training sessions, Ronnie allowed me to handle Scoop so I would be able to get
used to finding birds without having to worry about my dog.
Scoop showed me great patience, as there were times she should have been
very impatient while I searched like a blind person for the quail.

Stanley loves to remember his hunting trip with Scoop as his partner. He was so honored that Ronnie would allow him to hunt behind
his Field Champion.
Scoop had many
many friends and she will be remembered for a very long time.
